75-year old Dhan Nani Maharjan resides in Panga, Kirtipur. She loves making productive use of time as she does not like to sit idle.
Presently, she is active in planting flowers and making bateko dhoop (handmade incense) as well which is helping to generate her income source as well.
Nepali incense (bateko dhoop) is made out of various herbs tied together in lokta paper, twisted, and contains camphor.
धन नानी महर्जन, ७५ बर्षिया कीर्तिपुर-पाँगा निवासी । पहिला खेतबारीमा काममा तल्लिन । अब सक्नुहुन्न । यस उमेरमा पनि समयको सदुपयोग हुने गरी केही न केही काम गर्न खूब रुचि राख्नु हुन्छ । अहिले कौसीमा थरी थरीका फूलका विरुवाहरु हुर्काउनु भएको छ । त्यही फुल सुकेपछि धूलो बनाई बाटेको धूप बनाउने काम गर्नुहुन्छ । यसले गर्दा नून मसला किन्न र नातीनातिनालाई मिठाई किन्न भए पनि खर्च जुटेको छ । वहाँले नेपाली धूप (बाटेको धूप) बनाउदा जडीबुटीहरु, सुकेको फुलको धुलो र लोक्ता कागज प्रयोग गर्नुहुन्छ ।
